Any dental dollars that are left over once 2020\narrives go back to the insurance company, so you need to spend them now if you\nwant to take advantage of them.<\/li><li><strong>The Deductible:<\/strong> You need to meet the\ndeductible before your insurance benefits kick in. Once you do, you have until next\nyear before you must pay it again, so schedule those appointments now.<\/li><li><strong>Your Oral Health:<\/strong> Even without taking\ndental benefits into account, seeing your dentist as often as possible is\nalways the best way to keep your smile healthy and clean.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Does Dental Insurance Cover?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you don\u2019t feel like your mouth needs any sort of\nwork, you should at least make two appointments with the dentist every year for\ncheckups and cleanings. These routine visits are useful for detecting and\npreventing gum disease, tooth decay and other oral health problems. Since\npreventive care is often fully covered by insurance, it\u2019s an excellent way to\nuse your benefits. As a bonus, having an issue treated in its early stages (or preventing\nit from happening at all) makes it less likely that you\u2019ll need to pay for\nadditional treatment later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do need other kinds of dental work, such as a crown,\ncheck your policy to see what sort of coverage you\u2019re entitled to.
